This special blend contains nourishing herbs to tone the uterus, support optimal uterine function, and support stamina, endurance and courage during a long or challenging labour.

The Birth Boost tea contains:

Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) – spasmolytic and mild sedative, reduces labour pain and relaxes muscle tension.

Californian Poppy (Eschscholtozia californica) – mild sedative, reduces pain, anxiety and emotional stress.

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) – analgesic and relaxant actions, enhances labour contractions, relieves tension in a rigid cervix and so supports dilation.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) – supports circulation to reproductive organs, relaxes spasm and relieves pain.

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) – relaxant, anti-spasmodic, relaxes and strengthens the mother during childbirth.

Red Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus) – tones and nourishes the uterine muscle, rich nutritionally.

Schisandra Berries (Schisandra chinensis) - with calming nervine, adaptogenic and oxytocic actions. Enhances physical & mental endurance & performance. Used traditionally to enhance labour contractions during birth, particularly during a long, tiring or protracted labour.

How To Use

Use hot water that is just off the boil to pour over the herbs.

Let the tea steep for about 10 minutes.

Place a lid over the tea while steeping, to minimise loss of the volatile oils.

A natural sweetener such as honey, aguave or stevia may also be added, or a twist of lemon or lime.

The tea can be drunk hot, warm or cold.

Drink freely throughout labour, at any time the need is felt.

The made-up tea may be stored in the refrigerator for approximately 2 days.
